Reached your goals

Reached your goal

When you reach your goal, what should you do then?

Well it actually depends a bit on what goal you have exactly what details are important to be able to maintain the effect that you have managed to achieve.

For the sake of simplicity, I will use reduced waist measurements as an example of goals. But some things are common regardless of the goal you have had. Whether you have reduced your waistline or put on muscle.

First, you can not go back to how you ate and exercised before and and think that you should keep your waistline. You need to keep eating healthy and exercising to maintain your new body. However, you should not continue to eat fewer calories than you lose, it is time to eat the right amount of calories to maintain your weight. There are lots of websites and apps that can help you figure it out, just keep in mind that you need to adjust it according to how much you exercise as it determines how many calories you burn off.

You should also not think that it will be simple now just because you have managed to reach your goal. No, the same temptations will exist as before and they will be harder to resist sometimes because the environment is often not as supportive to avoid useless things when you now have a healthier body...

"should you not have a cake you who are so thin"

"you have to train again now, you always train"

Jealousy and envy can also start to show up in your environment. "Wonder how she takes care of her kids who train so much?"

Therefore, it is extra important that you have made changes in your life that are sustainable throughout your life and not a 12 week diet. Because if you have managed to change the way you think about unhealthy food, you will not as easily fall for temptations and comments from those around you.

It is important that you feel as good mentally as physically to be able to keep up with the change you have managed to bring about. Do not fall into the trap that just because you have lost weight, all other problems disappear.

Do not get me wrong, if your body feels better you will feel better mentally as well. You get easier sleep, less risk of low blood suger that affect the mood, more energy and so on.

But if you have felt mentally ill before, it does not disappear just because you get a nicer and healthier body. If you do not get the problems you had in your life that did not have to do with an unhealthy body in order, there is a great risk that those problems can lead to you having difficulty maintaining your new healthy body.

Where you stressed before and comfort ate, it is very important to get to the root of your stress, because otherwise it is always in the back of your mind to eat ice cream to feel better. If you are unlucky, the root problems can create other problems in your life and all of a sudden your body is not healthy again.

Unfortunately, I can not give as many tips on mental problems as stress or depression. The only tip I can really give is the same as about your physical health, do not deceive yourself and do not expose yourself to risks. If you are stressed about something, sit down and think about what you can do and get help or say things that you do not have time for or can do. Do not look at how others present their lives on Instagram, but focus on what is good for you and how you should achieve it. And last don't expectet others to solve your problems, to better yourself in any way it takes hard work from yourself end there is seldom any easy solution.
